Lyle Nelson, President
Principal owner of Nelson Roofing, Ltd. Lyle purchased Cam Air Systems Ltd. in early 2006, seeing great possibilities with complementing operations with Nelson Roofing. Having worked together with Cam Air on many joint venture projects over the last 10 years, the synergies became obvious.
He looks forward to continuing and expanding based on the mutual strengths of each company.
Chris Smith, General Manager
Chris brings an extensive background to the architectural metal field. He gained much of his experience in the industry as an installer for a small outfit in Vancouver and also as Technical Manager for Rheinzink. He was also a project manager for one of the eastern United States' largest architectural metal companies. He joined our team in 2006 and oversees operations for Cam Air Systems and the metal division of Nelson Roofing.
He lives in Comox with his wife Tatyana and their son Lucas.
Bruce Huggins, Administration and Estimating Manager
Bruce was one of the original founders of Cam Air Systems Ltd. in 1980.
As a sheet metal journeyman and estimator, he is experienced in all aspects of the HVAC, cladding, decking, and mechanical industry. His duties include estimating, job coordination, promoting safety, as well as application and design.
He and Trish have raised a large family and have 10 grandchildren. They live in Campbell River.
Rick Huggins, Operations & Estimating
Rick began working for Don and his father Bruce at Cam Air Systems full time in 1988. He finished his apprenticeship in 1992. Being part of a small company, he has had the opportunity to gain experience in most aspects of the sheet metal trade. He now works in estimating and project management.
When not working, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife Coreen, his sons Ryder and Wyatt, and his daughter Kylie. His activities include rock climbing and triathlons.
Dave Reid, Operations & Estimating
Dave started his sheet metal apprenticeship at Vancouver Island's largest multi-faceted sheet metal shop. In 1997 he began at Russ Nelson Roofing, working in the field before assuming shop and crew organizing duties. His knowledge of all aspects of the trade was a natural fit for moving to Camair Systems.
Dave, his wife Randi and their 3 boys reside in the Comox Valley and are avid supporters of minor hockey and lacrosse in the valley.
Nancy Allingham, Office Manager
Nancy has worked for the company since 1990. She is responsible for all aspects of office administration, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and job costing.
During her off-duty time, Nancy paints with watercolours and acrylics, loves to camp with family, and just enjoys life every day.
